  • Hello, I am Chantel and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan. I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Indiana University Bloomington in 2017 and my Masters of Social Work (MSW) specializing in mental health and addictions from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 2020. I have been practicing in the social work field for 7 years working in child welfare, home based services, case management, legal system, and those in crisis. I am a trained professional with experience practicing in a wide variety of settings with a diverse group of individuals.

  • I am passionate about supporting students· emotional and mental well-being. I strive to create a safe and trustworthy environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves. Through talk and art therapy. I work to help students explore their feelings, develop coping skills, and foster personal growth. My goal is to empower each student to navigate their challenges effectively.

    I am a proud graduate of Mumford High School, Go Mustangs! I earned my bachelor's degree in social work from Wayne State University, Go Warriors! Following that, I received my master's degree in social work, focusing on mental health, from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, GO BLUE!

    1. Child and Adolescent Mental Health

      • Specialization in treating mental and behavioral health challenges in youth (ages 5-19).

      • Knowledge of developmental milestones and age-specific therapeutic interventions.

      • Management of behavioral disorders such as conduct disorders and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).

    8. Crisis Intervention and Support

      • Offering immediate intervention for youth in crisis, including suicide prevention and self-harm behaviors.

      • Helping youth build resilience and coping mechanisms in response to crisis situations.

    9. Self-Esteem and Identity Development

      • Fostering a positive sense of self-worth and identity, particularly during critical stages of development.

      • Supporting youth through challenges such as bullying, peer pressure, and identity exploration.

    10. Depression and Mood Disorders

      • Expertise in recognizing and treating depression and other mood disorders in children and adolescents.

      • Implementing strategies to address symptoms of low mood, lack of motivation, and negative thinking patterns.

    11. Psychotropic Medications Knowledge

      • Knowledgeable about the use and effects of psychotropic medications in managing mental health conditions.

      • Providing support and guidance to youth and families navigating medication treatment plans.

    12. Psychoeducation for Youth and Families

      • Skilled in delivering psychoeducation to both youth and their families to increase understanding of mental health challenges.

      • Educating youth and families on coping strategies, mental health awareness, and the importance of treatment compliance.

    13. School-Based Therapy

      • Providing individual and group therapy within the school setting to address academic and behavioral concerns.

      • Collaborating with school staff, parents, and community resources to create a holistic support system
